You’ll find out as you set out after your dreams that most people don’t really want you to transcend the situation you were born into. Perhaps they’re scared for you, perhaps they don’t believe in you, or perhaps they’re just nasty, negative naysayers. Whichever it is, I advise you to stop sharing your dreams with people who try to hold you back. Because, if you’re the kind of person who senses there’s something out there for you beyond whatever it is you’re expected to do, if you want to be extraordinary, you will not get there by hanging around a bunch of people who tell you you’re not extraordinary. Instead, you will probably become as ordinary as they expect you to be. We have a saying in New York: when you’re the most happening person at the party, it’s time to leave. _Kelly Cutrone

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again. _F. Scott Fitzgerald
